Smoking in rented properties
Submitted by admin on Sun, 06/05/2011 - 21:15
Nowadays smokers are more and more under threat, the restrictions on where they are allowed to smoke have steadily been increased over the years from public places, to include places of work, and now they need to consider the situation with rented property.
Under The Smoke-free (Exemptions and Vehicles) Regulations 2007 (and the Welsh equivalent) it is also an offence to smoke in the shared parts of residential premises. So that means communal corridors, hallways, staircases and anywhere that is enclosed and used by other residents within the building.
